Which software for planetary maps, textures

Hi,

I am in a such mood, that I want to make a bunch of exoplanets

Which software would you recommend for creating landscape planetary maps?

And which one for generating planetary textures?

I guess I could use Google Earth and some imagnation in Photoshop, but some specialized software would help.

Please help.
